These academic and professional organizations play a crucial role in the design and conduct of research projects and in the dissemination of results to practitioners, policy-makers, users and scholars.


The Disaster Resilience and Sustainable Reconstruction Research Alliance (Oeuvre Durable)

Vietnam National University of Civil Engineering (NUCE)

The Faculty of International Cooperation and the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning at the National University of Civil Engineering (NUCE) in Hanoi are long-term collaborators of the Chairholder. The NUCE collaborates in funded research projects on urbanization in Vietnam and hosts graduate students during fielwork.

The chair is an active participant in this multi-university research team focused on vulnerability, resilience and sustainable reconstruction. The chair's activiy, within this broad research alliance focuse on analyzing how the territories and people around large Asian cities cope with rapid urban changes.


AREP Vietnam-South Asia

The Institute of Regional Sustainable Development - Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (IRSD-VASS) 

The Center of Sustainable Urbanization at the IRSD-VASS participates in the CRC's ongoing research projects on master-planned communities and on youth and public spaces in Hanoi.

From 2016 to 2019, AREP South Asia organized seminars and hosts UdeM students affiliated with the Chair as interns within its Vietnam office. 


Vietnamese Women Museum

HealthBridge Vietnam (Liveable Cities Program)

The NGO HealthBridge Canada mandated an international research team to conduct a pilot study of privately-produced open public spaces in Vietnamese cities. The study was conducted between April and December 2020.

The museum has been collecting, preserving and introducing these values, and heritages to domestic and international visitors in hope that everyone will love, respect and be proud of Vietnamese women!
